Final Image!

I'm so proud of myself!

I went to Formby Beach on Saturday, there was the strangest sky ever goin' on! I managed to get some gorgeous pictures of the dunes and the beach in general.

The photographers that i've been looking at for my "Freelance Project" have been Stephen Shore and Ansel Adams. Both very different, but very distinctive in their works.
I wanted to study both of their works, but Adam's has always stood out to me as the Granddaddy of Landscape Photography, his work is so inspiring and timeless, I wanted to create something just like it. The weather on the Beach on Saturday was just amazing, so moody, with hints of sunshine and fluffy clouds.

Mountains, Ansel Adams

Adams' image of "Mountains"
This has a bit more contrast than mine, but the concept is still the same.

I'm actually really happy with the way my image turned out in regards to Adams'. It isn't a direct copy, it's different enough to be on it's own.

Don't forget guys, you can always check me out on Facebook, or on Flickr or DeviantArt!

I'd love to hear comments from anyone!

The Zoo

So! Whilst my sister was visiting, we decided to go on a day out to the Zoo. Our closest Zoo is Chester. It was such a fun day out, and I thought it'd be the perfect chance to get some wonderful shots of Animals.

Some of my favorite shots are of the butterflies! I do love how some of these insects look! Some of the Butterflies are amazing to look at, I mean, their camoflauge are amazing!
The above photo, was a butterfly that landed on my sister's friends hand. I managed to get close enough to get this amazing macro shot. I really love this!

The image to the Right was a Butterfly that looked to me like an Owl. So amazing... When it opened its wings, it was the most amazing shade of Blue! Blue green, if you know what I mean... so beautiful
Elephants have an amazing memory. It is thought that they never forget.
I love this shot, the contrast in it, the creases in the face. I just think there is so much emotion in this photo. I'd love to hear your opinion!

Thanks for reading, as per usual.
I hope you enjoyed the photographs. To see more, don't forget, you can go to my facebook page and "Like" me. I also have a Deviant Art and a Flickr. Links are below!

See you soon guys!

So, I thought I'd do an Update!

Hi there guys!

Well, its 0:33am on Sunday 1st April, I thought I'd do an update. Theres no jokes here, no April Fools to get your hopes up and make you laugh - Oh I guessed it!

Just an honest update for those who might actually read this thing. :]

Well, We're on Easter break now, I should be doing so much work, but I'm struggling to motivate myself so much! I need to get my butt moving otherwise I'm not going to get onto 3rd year of this course! I'm not amused with myself, I think I need one of them Motivation trainers to kick my rump into gear! I'm heading to Liverpool during this break to talk to the people at the Black-E. Taking my Editorial project further and trying to branch out. This is focussing on Chinese New year, and the Chinese culture surrounding their Zodiacs. This will eventually be a book. Instead of submitting images for this assignment, Its going to be a book, including images from both Liverpool and Manchester new year celebrations. I'm really excited about this. I can't wait to see what this will look like!

My assignment for this competition is going well (Freelance Project), we have a fun weekend planned in Yorkshire coming up. This is following our successful Wales trip we took a few weeks ago. I uploaded some pics from that in the last blog post I did. Feel free to comment or critique them! (I love it when you do!)
I can't wait to get back and get some more landscape images done. Landscapes prove a challenge, allbeit a welcome one, I do enjoy doing them, even if I don't feel that professional or good!!
This should be fun for everyone who is going, fun walks, exploring new places. Who doesn't love doing something like that? Something different!

A nice moss covered tree in Snowden, Wales.

My sister is currently up visiting from Cambridge, thats really nice for me, I only get to see her maybe two or three times a year. I might take her out and get some nice photos of her, she is most certainly model material. However, quite Raw, she needs some refining and could be soemthing special! - Sorry if you're reading this Erica!
I'm hoping the weather will pick up for this, I've been meaning to get some nice fresh faced summer shots. I'm thinking about bringing out a range of Summer/Spring business cards? Including flowers, stunning models in beautiful backgrounds. I do need a new set, and don't want to be ordering the same ones time and time again!

Wales!

We recently took a trip to Wales. It was for my landscape assignment at University. I have decided to enter the Lavenderworld Photo competition.
http://www.photographycompetitions.net/2012/02/the-lavenderworld-landscape-photography-competition/
For those who might be interested in this competition.

I decided that I was going to do Landscapes for this Assignment, as they're something I don't do alot, and I don't see myself as an expert in. So I thought it'd be nice to have something different to do!

Just some of the images I took whilst there.

Please enjoy, and remember, I'm always up for comments and critiques!

Urban Exploring

The following images are from the abandoned Ravenhead Glass factory.

The following images are from the abandoned Sand Cleaning Factory that was owned by Pilkingtons. It was closed down when more sand was needed and the factory couldn't cope with the amount.

An abandoned house on a road in Crewe. More close up shots.

Thanks for taking a look at some of my Urban Exploring images. Sometimes known as "Urbex"
